Inventory management healthcare specialist, Ingenica Solutions, has been named a finalist in the annual European Supply Chain Excellence Awards after implementing an inventory management system at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust to help track and trace all products used in the hospital.
The next stage invites Ingenica Solutions and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust to attend a presentation to expand on details about the project, and put forward a case as to why this project should win in the ‘Public and Third Sectors’ category. The team will present their story to a judging panel on 1st October in London.
Nicola Hall, managing director at Ingenica Solutions said, “Hospitals spend millions of pounds every year on products, and significant cost is incurred due to product wastage and ineffective supply chain management; so our technology helps hospitals manage their inventory.
This is the second awards we have been shortlisted for in as many months, which is fantastic. We all feel the standard, and level of work invested justifies our finalist status, and hope to demonstrate strong enough evidence as to why we have an award winning entry.”
Jackie Pomroy, will represent Portsmouth NHS Hospitals Trust at the presentation. She said, “The magnitude of change that the inventory management system has created at Portsmouth is enormous. We’ve overcome major challenges to reach this point, and through the commitment and enthusiasm of the team from both Portsmouth and Ingenica Solutions, combined with their first-class technology, we really are taking huge steps forward for the NHS; adopting better, more efficient ways to work.”
The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards in association with PwC may be renowned for its rigorous judging process and as a true barometer of real supply chain excellence within Europe, but it is also one of the best nights of the supply chain calendar all year round. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in November in London.
